Junior DevOps Engineer & Full-Stack Developer — Hultsfred, Sweden

Hi, I'm Yaser. I build things that stay operational.

I'm finishing two years of hands-on training in DevOps, cloud, and software development in Sweden — and I work with small businesses, local communities, and teams who need honest, no-nonsense help with their tech: websites, automation, cloud setup, or small IoT projects.

A bit about me

From Hultsfred, Sweden — building things, one project at a time.

I'm Yaser — originally from Palestine, now living in Hultsfred, in southern Sweden. Over the past couple of years I've trained as a DevOps engineer and application developer through Sweden's YH system (Yrkeshögskola, a practical, work-focused form of higher education), while also studying cloud development, CI/CD, and even some industrial and CNC technology along the way.

I speak Arabic, English, and Swedish, and I like working with people directly — explaining things simply, without hiding behind jargon. I'm especially interested in open-source tools and self-hosted infrastructure, and I enjoy helping small businesses and local communities get the technology they need without overpaying for it.

Tech terms, explained simply

You don't need to understand the tech. You just need to know what it does for you.

CI/CD pipelines

Your updates go out automatically and safely — no manual copy-pasting files at midnight.

Containers (Docker)

Your app runs the same way everywhere: on my laptop, on a server, or in the cloud.

Infrastructure as code

Your server setup is written down as code, so it can be rebuilt quickly if something ever breaks.

Cloud & Linux hosting

Your website runs on a properly configured, secure server — not just "whatever was lying around."

Open-source tools

I prefer affordable, transparent tools over expensive locked-in subscriptions — better for small budgets.

AI tools, used honestly

I use AI assistants like Claude, and open-source AI models, to help me work faster and catch mistakes. I always read, understand, and test everything myself before it ships — the AI doesn't replace knowing the work.

Services

Where I can help

Practical, honest work. Pick what you need, skip what you don't.

Websites & web apps

Practical websites and web apps for small businesses, built with Django, Python, and HTMX — fast, simple, and easy to maintain.

Cloud & server setup

Getting your app onto a properly configured server or cloud environment — Azure, Linux, Docker — set up once, working reliably after.

Automation & CI/CD

Automatic testing and deployment, so updates go out safely without manual, error-prone steps.

Business automation & ERP

Open-source tools like ERPNext/Frappe, set up and customized for your business — no expensive software licenses needed.

IoT & embedded projects

Arduino and STM32-based projects — connecting sensors and hardware to real, working software.

Honest advice & small fixes

Sometimes you just need someone to look at what's broken and explain it clearly. I'm happy to help with smaller jobs too.

Education & training

How I got here

Two years of hands-on training in DevOps, cloud, and software development, through Sweden's YH system (Yrkeshögskola — a practical, work-focused form of higher education).

How I like to work

From first message to a finished job

01

Let's talk

Tell me what you need, in your own words. No technical knowledge required on your side.

02

A simple plan

I'll explain what I'd do, how long it might take, and what it would cost — clearly, before we start.

03

Building it

I do the work and keep you updated in plain language, not technical jargon.

04

Handover & support

You get something that works, plus a clear explanation of how it works — and I'm around if you need help after.

Questions, answered

Honest answers, no sales pitch

Are you experienced enough for this?

I'm a recent graduate, and I'm upfront about that. But I've already built and shipped real projects during my training — and I take the time to do things properly rather than rush. For bigger jobs, I'll always be honest about what's realistic for me to take on.

Can individuals hire you, or only businesses?

Both. I've worked on projects for small businesses, and I'm just as happy to help individuals — including personal websites or small IoT and hardware projects.

What languages do you work in?

Arabic, English, or Swedish — whichever is easiest for you. I'm comfortable explaining technical things in all three.

Are you looking for a job, or only freelance work?

Both, honestly. I'm looking for junior DevOps or cloud engineer roles in Sweden, and I'm also open to freelance and contract work on the side.

Do you use AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes, and I won't pretend otherwise. I use AI assistants such as Claude, plus open-source AI models, to help me work faster and catch mistakes. I always read, understand, and test everything myself before it goes live — the AI helps me work, it doesn't do the thinking for me.

Where are you based, and can you work remotely?

I'm based in Hultsfred, in southern Sweden, and I'm happy to work remotely with clients across Sweden and the wider EU.

"This space is reserved for real feedback from real clients — I'd rather leave it honest and empty than fill it with something made up."
